Being an official selection means our film is accepted at the film festival and is up for awards. As of this date, we have been selected for five film festivals, with two confirmed awards for best short documentary and best Documentary Film and an honorable mention for Best Short Film.

Part of the filmmaking process is submitting to film festivals. Why submit the film to festivals?

Film festivals can offer many benefits for the film, such as exposure, feedback, networking, distribution, and awards. Submitting the film to festivals can reach a wider and more diverse audience. Thus far People & Wolves has been reaching those goals.

Best Short Documentary Seasonal Winner 2024

I began entering film festivals in November 2023. The film has been selected by five festivals. It has three confirmed awards as Best Short Documentary thus far, showing the cast, crew, and producers that the documentary film industry acknowledges the film’s coexistence story.

The official selection is included in the festival and is up for awards.

 

The film has been entered into many festivals and has the possibility of being selected and winning more awards.

 

 

The film has been selected as a semi-finalist at the festival.
We are proud and happy to announce a HONORABLE MENTION for your film “People & Wolves” in the Best Short Film category for the March 2024 season of the Critics’ Choice International Film Festival.
Additionally, your film has also been judged as a Winner in the Best Documentary Film category.

A story of coexistence. For centuries, the Ojibwe have lived alongside their brother Ma’iingan, who we know in English to be the wolf. In February 2021, a Brutal assault, a hunt on their wolf relative, stirs emotion and grief for Ma’iingan as they know what happens to him will happen to them.
